作为三体宇宙出品的⾸个当代艺术展览系列的序章，《文明的初见》旨在探索将三体作为⼀个科幻著作、⽂化符号和链接科学与想象的平台，如何衍⽣出与之呼应与交错的创造性实践。展览并⾮对《三体》原著进⾏场景还原、视觉翻译或理念重述，而是将《三体》故事作为一个出发点和开放问题，结合原著去探讨对当下科技发展与科学研究等⽅⾯有紧迫性和启发性的问题，并将三体中的部分思考角度作为介⼊和对话现实的⽅法。

As the prologue to the first contemporary art exhibition series produced by Three-Body Universe, First Contact aims to explore how The Three-Body Problem, as a work of science fiction, a cultural symbol, and a platform bridging science and imagination, can give rise to creative practices that resonate and intersect with it. Rather than visualising scenes from the book or reiterating concepts from the original novel, the exhibition takes the story of The Three-Body Problem as a departure point and an open question. It invites the original work to address pressing and thought-provoking issues concerning current technological development and scientific research, engaging with the reality that we live in.

驻留计划为年轻艺术家提供了一个专注于三体宇宙主题的创作机会，结合全球驻地机构的资源，艺术家们可以在特定的时间和空间内，围绕《三体》中的科幻主题展开深入研究和艺术实践。通过这一计划，我们希望激发艺术家对自身创作的新思路与灵感，并鼓励他们与科学家、学者等进行跨学科的深度对话，在探讨技术、文明与人类未来的同时，通过作品表达他们独特的视角和创作理念。

The residency project offers young artists and creative practioners the chance to focus on the themes of Three-Body Universe. With support from global organisations, artists can conduct in-depth research and artistic practice on the science fiction topics about and expanded from The Three-Body Problem. We aim to inspire new ideas and perspectives, encouraging interdisciplinary dialogue with scientists and scholars. Through this project, artists can express their unique creative concept about the future of technology and humanity.
